Cloud Agents have a default configuration with various settings and this controls how they behave. These settings are saved as profiles on the Configuration Profiles tab. You can create custom configuration profiles and assign them to hosts using tags.
Common How Tos
Suspend Scanning | Prevent auto updating | In-Memory SQLite Databases | Customize Performance | Configure Scan Interval | Agent Scan Merge | Configure FIM settings | Configure EDR settings

Configuration settings impact many agent behaviors. How and when it collects host metadata, when it should sync with the cloud platform, when to do self-updates, tuning of performance and bandwidth utilization, configuring the scan intervals for Vulnerability Management and Policy Compliance. Initial Profile is the default profile with configuration settings provided by the service. This is assigned to agents in the subscription by default at installation time. Want to see the settings? Hover over Initial Profile and select View from the Quick Actions menu. |
Tell me the steps to create a custom profile. Go to the Configuration Profiles tab, select New Profile and our wizard will help you with the various settings. You can make any profile the default (instead of Initial Profile). It's easy - select the check box "Make this the default profile for the subscription". |
How to customize performance The performance settings, in your configuration profile, govern how agents behave. It's easy to customize: 1) Click Customize, 2) Choose a default level (Low, Normal, High) to start with, and 3) edit the individual settings. Learn more |
Assigning configurations You might want to assign different agent configurations for different parts of your network infrastructure, i.e. laptops, servers, desktops, datacenters. Just tag your hosts according to your groupings and assign these tags to different configuration profiles. How do I tag hosts? Use AssetView (AV). |
Deleting Configuration Profile Just choose the configuration profile to be deleted with the radio button and click Delete from Actions list. Make sure that the configuration profile is not associated with any agent. After deleting configuration profile, assets will be evaluated for other configuration profiles and get assigned. If there is no matching configuration profile found to be assigned in place of deleted configuration profile, your default configuration profile gets assigned. If you don't have any default configuration, "Initial Profile" configuration gets assigned. |
Multiple Blackout Windows can be configured. Keep in mind Blackout Window configuration cannot be 24 hours a day for all 7 days, as the agent will no longer be able to communicate with the platform. |
Reorder profiles to set priority You may have multiple configuration profiles that match the same host. When this is the case we’ll apply profiles based on the order in which they are listed. The profile at the top of has the highest priority and is applied first. |
Directly assign a profile to an agent host This ensures a certain profile is used for a certain agent. Learn more |
How to delay agent version upgrades The platform will automatically upgrade installed agents to the new versions when the platform is upgraded. You can increase the Upgrade Check Interval in performance settings to delay the upgrade. Learn more |
Newly installed agents are governed by performance settings and blackout windows for the first execution after installation. (This behavior applies using Windows Agent 1.5.5+ and Linux/MacOS Agent 1.6.0+) |
Profile Permissions Managers are granted all Configuration Profile Permissions by default. You might want to grant subusers these permissions. Learn more |
